The Jewelettes are an eleven piece Motown Big Band comprising of three top class vocalists, a three piece brass section, piano/keyboards, bass, drums, guitar and percussion which completes this fantastic line-up. The bands wide range of instruments and voices allows them to faithfully reproduce the wonderful "Motown" sound of the early 60's, all live for you to enjoy. The band are available to hire for all types of events; from weddings and birthdays to corporate and private functions. The band was formed to coincide with the celebration of Motown's 50th anniversary, which took place throughout 2009. The Jewelettes Motown Big Band have put together some of the greatest Motown hits ever recorded for your listening pleasure. Hits from artist's such as Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Marvelettes, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Jackson 5, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder and many more. These songs are taken mainly from the time that Berry Gordy founded the Motown label in 1959 up until he moved the organisation from Hitsville in Detroit to L.A. in 1972.
"The Motown Show" performed by The Jewelettes Motown Big Band, brilliantly encompasses song and music performance with beautifully crafted choreography, artist dedications and breathtaking lighting and visuals along with a superb stage set. The Jewelettes have captured all the magic and nostalgia from this much loved period in music history. The Jewelettes are once again performing at the Stillorgan Park Hotel for this years Christmas festivities and "the season to be jolly" is quickly coming around the corner. It's back! And, it promises to be be better then ever! The Story of Motown returns to Dublin's Olympia Theatre this May, featuring all the classic Motown hits that you know and love. Hits from artists such as, The Supremes, The Jacksons, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Marvelettes plus many, many more! Hey guys, hope your all keeping well! It's been a while since the last update so I thought I'd bring you all up to speed on what's been happening over the recent festive period.
The Story of Motown - 5th December
Once again, The Story of Motown was performed to a very excitable crowd on Sunday 5th December in Dublin's Olympia Theatre. The gig was possibly the best of the year with both an electric band performance and enthusiastic crowd combining to make a truly unforgettable night. With 5 successful performances of the show now behind them, both the cast and crew of the show look forward to what 2011 will bring so watch this space. We would also like to thank everyone who made the show possible throughout the year and above all, those who came out and supported the show. You! We look forward to your continued support in this new year!
The Stillorgan Park Hotel - Christmas Shows 2010
Many a dance was had and a drink sank over the festive period when The Jewelettes Motown Big Band took to the stage for The Stillorgan Park Hotel's annual Christmas festivities. Each night, though while different, brought its own unique sense of excitement and fun and was very much enjoyed by everyone involved. Thank you to everyone for playing their part on the night and congratulations to those who won awards in the various categories on the different nights. Here's to next year!
